Kate Middleton & Prince William Just Kissed In Public For The First Time In Years

The reason was quite sweet.

When it comes to public displays of affection, a pat on the back or a simple hand hold doesn’t amount to much—unless you’re talking about a royal family member.

Indeed, for as long as we can remember, royal PDAs have often been strictly confined to the less is more mentality—God forbid we ever see so much as a peck between them. That’s why when Kate Middleton and Prince William shared a full blown kiss at a polo match in Windsor this week, the world went into meltdown.

In the images from the July 6 event, the Duke and Duchess are seen completely at ease, laughing and enjoying the aftermath of the game. As it wrapped, the pair embraced, sharing a sweet kiss on the cheek as they did so.

William was bright red in the face, though not because of the kiss—he himself put his best foot forward on the field. His efforts were clearly appreciated by his wife of 11 years.

The polo match was for an important reason—The Outsourcing Inc. Royal Charity Polo Cup raised money for eight charities including London’s Air Ambulance Charity, The Passage, and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice.

For the event Kate wore a sleeveless white midi dress by a personal favourite designer of hers, Emilia Wickstead. She was seen chatting animatedly to guests throughout the event.

Joining Kate and Wills was their new cocker spaniel, Orla, who ran playfully around them. The pup joined the family after their beloved pooch, Lupo, passed away in late 2020

It looks like the couple are enjoying the warmer days in the UK—and there are plenty more ahead. July and August are typically quieter months for The Firm, who usually take the opportunity to holiday in warm European destinations. With that in mind, if this is the last we see of Kate and Wills for a while, they surely went out with a bang.
