Kate Middleton Wore A Stunning Custom Suit For This Year’s Remembrance Sunday Service

A very powerful look

We’re used to seeing Kate Middleton sticking to her usual array of bright-hued coats and floral frocks when it comes to public appearances. But as the royal family gathered to pay their respects to fallen soldiers on Remembrance Sunday this year, we saw her opt for a subdued black look.

During the scaled-back, socially-distanced service, she was joined by Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the immediate royal family to honour veterans at The Cenotaph in London.

Cutting a very chic figure in black, the Duchess of Cambridge wore custom Alexander McQueen (although, some have suggested that it is actually bespoke Catherine Walker). The suit itself was a nod to traditional military-style uniforms, right down to the tasselled epaulette-style shoulders.

She topped the look off with a black Philip Treacy headpiece and pearl drop earringsreportedly borrowed from Queen Elizabeth II.

Keeping with tradition, she donned three red poppies pinned to her coat, to commemorate those who have died in the line of duty.

She joined her mother-in-law, Camilla Parker Bowles on the balcony overlooking the service as the Queen paid her respects to the Unknown soldier monument, and Prince William and his father, Prince Charles, laid wreaths.

Kensington Palace shared an official post on their Instagram, sharing their respects.

On #RemembranceSunday The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined The Queen and Members of the Royal Family for the annual Remembrance Day Service at The Cenotaph. This year the @RoyalBritishLegion encouraged us all to to take to our windows and doorsteps for a two minutes’ silence at 11am on Sunday November 8, to remember and honour those who have sacrificed themselves to secure and protect our freedom.”
