Kate Middleton Just Did Two Days Of Work Experience At A Maternity Ward In London

You’d think that future Queen of England Kate Middleton had done her dash when it comes to the everyday working life of a commoner, but it turns out that the mother-of-three was doing hands on experience as recently as last week.

While the exact details of her work experience have been kept under wraps, the Duchess of Cambridge completed two days with the Maternity unit of Kingston Hospital in London from Tuesday the 25th of November to Thursday 27th November.

According to Hello!, Kate visited the antenatal, postnatal and labour wards while on the unit and also accompanied a community midwife on an external visit, which would be quite the surprise for any expectant mother.

The reason for the visit is likely to do with Kate’s ongoing charity work which generally centres around young children.

Kate is, of course, no stranger to hard work. Prior to joining the royal family, the 37-year-old studied at university, making her one of the first princesses to have a degree. She then worked in retail for her parent’s company, Party Pieces, a brand that sells high-end party supplies for birthdays, weddings and celebrations in general.

After that, Kate became an accessories buyer for fashion brand Jigsaw, something that according to the brand’s co-founder, Belle Robinson, she was impressive at. ‘I have to say I was so impressed by her,’ Belle told the Evening Standard back in 2003. ‘There were days when there were TV crews at the end of the drive. We’d say: “Listen, do you want to go out the back way?” And she’d say: “To be honest, they’re going to hound us until they’ve got the picture. So why don’t I just go, get the picture done, and then they’ll leave us alone.”’
