You Have To See Margot Robbie’s Face As Kate Winslet Praises Woody Allen

Her reaction says it all

Over the weekend, Margot Robbie proved – once again – why she’s an absolute legend with her perfect response to Kate Winslet praising Woody Allen.

“Woody Allen is an extraordinary writer,” Winslet said, referring to her latest film, Wonder Wheel, which is written and directed by Allen.

Upon hearing the direction of the conversation, Robbie, who was seated next to Winslet on ‘The Envelope’ with the Los Angeles Times, turned stony-faced.

“He’s obviously known for having created extraordinary roles, very very powerful and complicated roles for women, for many many years,” Winslet continued.

Saoirse Ronan and Jessica Chastain, who were also guests on the roundtable, sat in silence as Winslet spoke, clearly unimpressed by her portrayal of the director, especially given the Harvey Weinstein scandal and #MeToo movement this year.

Allen was accused of sexual assault by his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, in 1992 when she was just seven years old.

In 2014, Dylan spoke out about the pain Allen had caused her in an essay to The New York Times. “When I was seven years old, Woody Allen took me by the hand and led me into a dim, closet-like attic on the second floor of our house,” Dylan wrote.

“He told me to lay on my stomach and play with my brother’s electric train set. Then he sexually assaulted me. He talked to me while he did it, whispering that I was a good girl, that this was our secret, promising that we’d go to Paris and I’d be a star in his movies.”

Dylan responded to the new film on Twitter, saying she hopes the #MeToo movement will finally make actors and actresses stop turning a blind eye to Allen’s behaviour.
