Congratulations are in order! Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt have welcomed their first child together, the couple confirmed.
“We are beyond thrilled to announce the birth of our daughter, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt,” the pair announced. “We couldn’t be happier. Both mum and baby are doing great. We are extremely blessed.”
Last week the actor took to Instagram to share a photo with his pregnant wife while on a hike.
“Ready to pop / still don’t stop,” he captioned the image, explaining that the pair went to the “top of the mountain today.”
In February, Pratt explained why he knew his wife would make a wonderful mother.
“She’s, God willing, going to be a great mum one day. She’s got great parents, great siblings, she fills in all my many deficits,” he said during an appearance on E!’s In the Room. “She has changed my life for the better in so many ways,” Pratt added. “My heart, my soul, my son I feel are all so safe with her. She’s a great step mum.”
While this is the first child for Schwarzenegger, Pratt shares a 7-year-old son with his ex-wife Anna Faris.
Schwarzenegger also recently opened up about the experience of being pregnant amid the pandemic, saying Pratt had been a “wonderful husband” and “very understanding.”
“It’s been amazing having him home and also very understanding about my need to sanitise everything, having everyone wear masks all the time,” the author said in June. “That’s been helpful.”
