In news that’s guaranteed to shock, it looks like Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx have decided to call it quits on their notoriously private relationship, after what’s thought to be six years of dating. That’s if Foxx’s latest comments are anything to go by.
According to witnesses, the 51-year-old actor, who is rumoured to have been dating 40-year-old Holmes since 2013, told guests at Byron Allen’s annual Oscars party that he is “single”.
Foxx was without Holmes to celebrate the Academy Awards last weekend and was instead seen partying with Gossip Girl star Jessica Szohr. He reportedly revealed the unexpected news of his single life just as he took to the stage to perform at the Beverley Hilton. A source told HollywoodLife: “Right before he sang, he seemingly told the crowd he’s single. He had a lot of women on stage and danced with them. It appeared he told the crowd, ‘I’m single’.”

Another source told Us Weekly, “It was very nonchalant, while he was referring to married and single couples, he just dropped the line, ‘I’m single’,” they said.
If Holmes and Foxx really have decided to call it day, then it must be a fairly fresh break up. Just two months ago back in December, the rumoured pair were spotted together in New Orleans and were both grinning from ear to ear, looking over the moon to be out and about together.
Perhaps their split might not come as a surprise to some, after reports from an appearance the couple made in January revealed they were “awkward”. While we all swooned over the first photos of Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx at a public event together, apparently behind-the-scenes things were a little awkward.
“Katie left the room right when I was going to introduce her, she was sitting at that table right with Jamie Foxx and everyone else,” Clive Davis said according to PEOPLE. “If you’re going to sit together what better night than tonight?” he continued.
“Katie was really uncomfortable when Clive called her out,” a witness told the publication at the time.
