Marc Jacobs has released images from the fall ’16 ad campaign, including Jacobs’ latest style muses, Marilyn Manson, Courtney Love, Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevinge.
The campaign images have been released on Instagram, featuring a distinct goth influence, and for no one is this more striking on than Kendall Jenner, who is almost completely unrecognisable with bleached eyebrows, crimped hair and ENORMOUS heeled boots.
Marc Jacobs described Kendall as a ‘supermodel’, saying she was ‘sweet, kind and the ultimate professional’ as a ‘Goth Goddess’ in this campaign. He also commended her for her ability to ‘effortlessly transform into a look and character’, saying that is what makes models so appealing and inspiring.
Courtney Love, Cara Delevinge and Annie Clark (AKA St. Vincent) also channel goth vibes in the images.
Marilyn Manson looks completely in his element, looking surgical and scary. To introduce him in the campaign, Marc Jacobs mentioned Marilyn Manson’s comments calling for people to listen to the kids and community on the Columbine shooting, saying: “Sometimes knowing when to listen is more important than being heard, and in one sentence Manson left a stronger impression on me than his music ever had previously.”
