Kendall Jenner’s acne-fighting facial is straight out of a science lab

Do not try this at home

You’ve heard of vampire facials, magic facials and 24-carat gold facials… but on the crazy scale, none even come close to the newest skin-saving method touted by the Kardashian Klan. Introducing: the slush facial, which, sadly, is in no way related to the frozen soft drink you used to love.

Instead, the slush facial harnesses the power of dry ice dipped in liquid nitrogen and acetone to work its magic. Not exactly the kinds of ingredients you have in your make-up kit.

Celebrity dermatologist Christie Kidd demonstrated the pimple-eradicating slush facial on an episode of Khloe Kardashian’s controversial Revenge Body reality TV show, revealing that Kendall and Kylie Jenner are both major fans.

The story goes that the high-tech trio of ingredients cleans out clogged pores and exfoliates skin for a clearer, brighter complexion. Holly Buchko of Coast Dermatology tells marie claire US that the procedure “begins with a cool exfoliation of the surface of the skin with dry ice wrapped in gauze and dipped in acetone.”

“This serves to clean the surface of the skin, and remove excess oils and make-up,” she says.

Of course, this isn’t the kind of thing you’d ever DIY, and must be left in the hands of professionals. Until then, you can always stick with charcoal facials for combating excess shine.
