Lady Gaga’s Golden Globes Gown Is Up For Auction After Maid Found It In Her Hotel Room

Finders keepers?!

Lady Gaga was the most talked about person on the 2019 Golden Globes red carpet in January, attending the event wearing an extravagent blue Valentino gown and dying her hair the same shade to match. But fast-forward 10 months and the exact dress is causing a lot of controversy after it was spotted being auctioned online – but not by Gaga.

A maid reportedly found the dress at the Beverly Hilton hotel, where the awards ceremony was hosted this year, and after handing it over to lost and found was eventually given the huge, custommade gown to keep. Rather than whip it out as the ultimate Halloween costume, the woman decided to see how much the haute couture piece was worth by taking it to auction.

At the moment, the Judy Garland–inspired Valentino gown, which Gaga wore to accept the award for Best Original Song for A Star Is Born is up for auction on Nate D. Sanders’ site, where the minimum bid is $8000.

According to the letter of authenticity, also posted on the site, Gaga gifted the dress to the housekeeper after it had spent months sitting in the hotel’s lost and found area. “After the time legally held by lost and found, they gave it to me as a gift from her,” the letter reads.

TMZ reports that on finding out about the auction, Valentino reported the dress as stolen to the police.
