Why Lara Worthington No Longer Gets Butterflies For Sam Worthington

They've been married for almost three years

The giddy feelings of a new relationship don’t last forever, even for one of Australia’s hottest (literally) couples‚ Lara and Sam Worthington.

Speaking to Kyle and Jackie O, Lara Worthington admitted the butterflies in her stomach no longer flutter at the sight of her husband of nearly three years.

“Lara, do you still get butterflies when you see Sam?” Sandilands asked her on the KIIS FM show on Tuesday.

‘It’s not butterflies, it’s just a different…” Worthington replied, trailing off.

The model agreed with Jackie O that she only felt butterflies in the first year of the relationship. “And then that passes,” she said.

In the lengthy interview, Worthington also revealed she first met the Avatar star at Central Park (yes, that sounds like the start of a Woody Allen rom-com).

“We were both at a festival in Central Park in New York. I was there for a Cotton On event, and he was there with a few of his friends…he was with Butler. What’s his first name? Gerard Butler.”

According to Worthington, the pair clicked right away.

“I remember I had a house here in Sydney in the Eastern Suburbs, and my mum was over helping me clean… I said ‘Mum, I’m going to get married’ and she said ‘What? You’ve just met the guy,” she joked.

The mother-of-two also explained how she and the actor settled on the names of their children, Racer and Rocket Zot, reports News Corp.

“I don’t know, I just love Racer, I just thought it was a really cool name and Sam liked it too,” she said. “There was loads of names. I loved the name Jet but I couldn’t really have a Rocket and a Jet.”

She continued: “We didn’t know it was going to be a boy. Well the first time we didn’t (find out) and the second time… there’s not many surprises so I thought let’s just keep it a secret.

“They’re both happy and healthy babies — they’re really good boys.”

Racer is now six-months-old, while Rocket Zot was born in March, 2015.

Since touching down in Sydney on Thursday, the model’s busy schedule has included a visit to the factory where her bronzing and tanning line The Base is produced.

Worthington shared a snap on Instagram showing her testing products and swapping high fashion for a high-vis vest and hairnet.
