UPDATE:
Canadian authorities have released the heartbreaking news that they have called off the search for missing Australian woman Sophie Dowsley.
The 34-year-old Melbourne hiker disappeared in the rugged wilderness of British Columbia 15 days ago. Her partner, Greg Tiffin, was found dead last week.
Sophieโs brother, Jamie Dowsley, confirmed the devastating news on Facebook that the search efforts had concluded, The Herald Sun reports.
โToday the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have made the decision to cease the search for Sophie Dowsley who went missing 15 days ago,โ he wrote.
โThis decision has been made on the basis that there are no plausible or conceivable areas left to search. After visiting this area and gaining an understanding of the terrain and conditions our family fully accept this decision.โ
