The fact that a film stars the inimitable Jennifer Lawrence should be reason enough to see it.
But here are another few excellent reasons why we’re ridiculously excited to see the first glimpse of Mother!, the new psychological horror-thriller from director Darren Aronofsky.
While the story of the suspenseful horror flick has been kept under wraps, the movie follows a couple whose relationship is put to the test when “uninvited guests arrive at their home”.
The trailer looks equal parts unnerving and insane, with Lawrence seen floating around an ominous empty house. We hear the actress roar the lines “You’re insane!” and “Murderer!”. Gulp.

Mother! also stars Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Harris, Domhnall Gleeson, and one of our favourite humans, Kristen Wiig.
And, if you’re not sold already, the film is from the directing genius who brought you Requiem For A Dream and Black Swan, Darren Aronofsky. He’s also J.Law’s boyfriend; the pair have reportedly been dating since 2016.
