The Foreign Affairs Minister billed taxpayers $2716 to attend the Portsea Polo in Victoria last January.

She is the latest politician to face scrutiny over taxpayer-funded travel following claims that Health Minister Sussan Ley flew to the Gold Coast on a taxpayer-funded trip, and bought an $800,000 apartment.

The Portsea Polo is an annual event held on the Mornington Penninsula that attracts a fashionable crowd of celebrities, socialites and influencers.

Last year, The AFR described The Foreign Affairs Minister as โ€œthe star attractionโ€ in the VIP marquee.

Ms Bishop spent $2177 on flights from Perth to Melbourne via Sydney, as well as $416 for car travel and a further $123 for the MPsโ€™ standard travel allowance, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

One Nationโ€™s Pauline Hanson has argued today that MPs who make false claims should be fined, according to News.com.au

Ms Bishopโ€™s office was contacted for comment.
