Yesterday, Malcolm Turnbull clearly had no idea of what he was getting himself into when he uttered the words ‘Australian values.’
The Australian Prime Minister was proposing changes to the country’s current Citizenship Test, saying that, among other things, the new test would include a section to ensure all future citizens subscribe to what he termed “uniquely Australian” values.
What those exact values were, Turnbull didn’t think to clarify.
He was later challenged by ABC’s Leigh Sales, where he revealed the government would enter a six-week period of consultation over what actually constitutes the term.
Of course, the good people of the internet have already taken it upon themselves to define the phrase.
