Nicole Kidman Just Gave The Most Moving Golden Globes Speech

"Let's keep the conversation alive, let's do it"

Nicole Kidman was the “first cab off the rank” at the Golden Globes as the winner of the first award of the night for her role in Big Little Lies.

And she used her acceptance speech to make a powerful statement about domestic violence and the power of women.

“The character I played represents something that is the centre of our conversation right now, abuse,” she said of her Big Little Lies role.

“I do believe and I hope we can elicit change through the stories we tell and the way we tell them. Let’s keep the conversation alive, let’s do it.”

An emotional Kidman thanked her co-stars, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoe Kravitz, as well as her mother.

“We sat at a table, we pledged allegiance to each other and commitment to each other and this is ours to share,” she said of her co-stars. “Wow, the power of women.”

Kidman added: “My mamma was an advocate for the women’s movement when I was growing up and because of her, I’m standing here.”

Known for her adorable PDAs with her husband of 10-years Keith Urban, Kidman also shared a touching tribute to the musician.

“Keith Urban, when my cheek is against yours, everything melts away and that is love,” she concluded.

“It’s true. I love you so much.”
