Emergency services were called to the home in Miller around midday, by a concerned friend who was worried for the childโ€™s welfare. But the girl was declared dead at the scene, according to news.com.au.

The coroner will prepare a report on the death. However, the daughter of a neighbour told The Daily Telegraph that the woman who lived in the house had suffered a car accident at the weekend.

โ€œA family friend (of the womanโ€™s) came over and told my parents she had a car accident up in the mountains,โ€ Ms Fransisco said. โ€œShe didnโ€™t seem like the kind of mother whoโ€™d leave her daughter alone.โ€

Another neighbour, Pat Ingram, told The Daily Telegraph that a woman came to her house inquiring about the child. โ€œSomeone knocked on our door, asked if we had seen the little girl. She said she was concerned for the childโ€™s welfare. She said she was the next of kin.

โ€œShe asked if I had a ladder. I told her if she was really concerned, she should ring the police.โ€
