Touching Never-Before-Seen Letters Written By Princess Diana To Go To Auction

She reveals Harry's cheeky side

Princess Diana’s private letters are set to hit the auction block at Cheffins auction house on January 5 as part of a collection of royal pieces including signed Christmas cards from Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip and Prince Charles, as well as pieces of cake from their weddings and never-before-seen pictures.

In the never-before-seen letters, Princess Diana speaks of the close bond she shares with her two sons, Prince William and Harry – and she even discusses Harry’s cheeky behavior.

One note, written to Buckingham Palace steward Cyril Dickman was written just after the birth of Prince Harry when the princess was just 23.

“Dear Cyril, it was so kind of you to have sent us such a lovely card, on the arrival of our small son – we were both greatly touched by your thoughtfulness and enormously appreciated it.”

“William adores his little brother and spends the entire time swamping Harry with an endless supply of hugs and kisses, hardly letting the parents near!”

“The reaction to one tiny person’s birth has totally overwhelmed us and I can hardly breathe for the mass of flowers that are arriving here! This is just to say a big thank you, Cyril. For thinking of us at this particularly happy time, with lots of love, from Diana.”

In another letter dated October 17, 1992, written to Dickman, who served as palace steward for more than 50 years, Diana reveals sings of Prince Harry’s mischievous behavior at Ludgrove School in Berkshire.

“The boys are well and enjoying boarding school a lot, although Harry is constantly in trouble!”

The letters are estimated to be valued at around $25,000.
