5 Things Laura Byrne Swears By To Make Her Life Easier

The secrets to getting things done.

If there’s anyone that knows the meaning of the word “busy”, it’s Laura Byrne.

The 35-year-old is a mum to toddlers Marlie and Lola, a jewellery designer, hosts a radio show and a successful podcast alongside fellow Bachelor alum Brittany Hockley.

So when we needed some advice on how to tone down the stress and make our lives a little easier, we knew just who to turn to.

We caught up with the Redken ambassador to learn the five things she can’t live without to get things done.

A Faithful Companion

“I have a love hate relationship with this little silver screen,” Laura tells marie claire Australia.

“Running businesses alongside being a mum of two toddlers means I have to be as productive with my time as possible, so I always carry my laptop around with me so I can catch up on work and tick off the to-do list when I have spare time.

“If I’m sitting at an appointment, or waiting for a coffee, I usually have my laptop out and am either firing off emails or doing Wordle.”

A No Fuss Beauty Routine

“Who has time to do a ten-step routine or spend countless hours in the bathroom (unless you’re doing it for self-care)?” she says.

“I’m a pretty no fuss, less-is-more kind of gal when it comes to beauty routines.

“In my 35 years around the sun I’ve learnt a few things and I like to keep it simple; drink loads of water and wear sunscreen. I think it’s important to find products that work for you, and not overdo it.”

There is one product that Laura swears by since having children: Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Regime. It’s a three-step system that provides the ultimate repair, intense conditioning and colour-fade protection for all hair types and textures.

The Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Regime includes shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in treatment.

“I lost a LOT of hair after having kids, and it has taken a long time to grow and get strong again,” she says.

“The Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Regime is used to repair hair and strengthen it against breakages.

“It’s been a slow road and I still have a sweet mum fringe-mullet going on, but it’s definitely helping with the recovery.”

Style With Purpose

Laura’s number one rule to make getting dressed easier? Plan ahead while purchasing.

“I never buy something unless I have a good idea of where I am going to wear it or what I’m going to wear it with,” she says.

“I used to be so guilty of buying clothes that would then sit in my wardrobe with the tags still on them forever. Now, when it comes to clothes, unless it sparks joy or comfort it’s off to the Salvos.”

A Healthy App-etite

While on the go, Laura turns to apps to get things done and stay up to date.

“[I love] the Apple podcast app. I spend all my free time listening to podcasts—sometimes it’s for research, but mostly I love keeping up with pop culture and what’s happening in the world,” she says.

And as a small business owner, she can’t go past Shopify.

“Shopify allows me to keep on top of ToniMay, my jewellery business, even when I’m running after wild beasts,” she says.

Balancing Act

For Laura, there’s one thing that stands out above all the rest when it comes to reducing stress: balance.

“Try and remember to carve out a little time each day for yourself, without technology,” she says.

“Read a few pages of a book, go for a walk, cook yourself a good meal. It’s pretty amazing how connected we are these days, and technology makes life so much easier, but it can be tempting to sit and mindlessly scroll.

“No one ever gets off Instagram and says, ‘Oh wow, that was an awesome half an hour scroll I just had!’ So, use your time consciously.”
