What Is The Hannah Montana Anniversary Special

Shot in front of a live studio audience, the Hannah Montana Anniversary Special will be a one-off television event. Hosted by Call Her Daddy’s Alex Cooper, the show sees Cyrus visit recreations of the set before sitting down with the host for an in-depth interview.

Following the initial announcement the Wreckingball singer said, “Hannah Montana will always be a part of who I am. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection.

“The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of. This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”

Naturally, fans are hoping to see some of the character’s iconic hits performed live once more – and they may be in luck.

The announcement hinted: “There will also be some familiar notes that find their way back into the spotlight.”

Where To Watch The Hannah Montana Anniversary Special?

The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special is set to air on Disney+ in Australia on March 24, 2026 — exactly 20 years to the day that Hannah Montana originally premiered on Disney Channel.

Miley Cyrus And Billy Ray Cyrus’ Relationship

Both of Miley’s parents, Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus make an appearance in the first trailer for the TV special; Tish walking around the sets with her daughter and Ray hip-bumping her in front of the sofa.

Miley and her father have had a well-documented rocky relationship over the years, with tension simmering behind the scenes even during the height of Hannah Montana. Things came to a head following Billy Ray’s 2022 divorce from Miley’s mum Tish, with the family fractured and rumours of estrangement swirling — particularly after Miley notably excluded her father from her Grammy acceptance speech in 2024 and later referred to her mother as her “hero.”

The pair ultimately reconnected through music — Miley wrote the song “Secrets” as a gift for Billy Ray’s 64th birthday in October 2025, and it was reportedly the olive branch that helped mend their rift.
