The time for The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 cast to head back to Cousins Beach – and College – has officially come, with the show’s final installment released in Australia on July 16.

Fans of the series will be more than familiar with the central characters Isabel “Belly”, Conrad and Jeremiah – its star threesome – played by Lola Tung, Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno respectively. Similarly, its supporting cast, made up of Sean Kaufman as Steven; Rain Spencer as Belly’s best friend – and Steven’s girlfriend – Taylor; and Jackie Chung as Belly and Steven’s mum, Laurel.

Based on the third book in author Jenny Han’s best-selling seriesWe’ll Always Have Summer, the latest season picks up four years after season two left off, which is more than the two year time jump readers will remember. But, that’s far from the only deviation we’re yet to see between this adaptation and the beloved source material.

“Jenny [Han] is able to still keep true to the story and the love of the characters, while also adding things in a way that would make you least expect it,” Gavin teased in our exclusive interview.

“There’s definitely some pretty big changes that I feel like people are going to really appreciate.”

Included in those changes are a batch of new characters and cast members added to The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 lineup. Below, everything we know about the new characters and the actors who play them.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 New Cast & Characters

Who Is Benito In The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3?

Beinto the summer i turned pretty

Newcomer, and possible love interest for Belly in the final (!!!) two episodes of TSITP, is Benito who is portrayed by Fernando Cattori, an actor and producer hailing from Mexico City.

Still in the early stages of his career, Fernando has starred as Gerardo in international Netflix show, Untamed Royals as well as Carlos Joven in With You in the Future.

With a background that also spans photography, his Instagram account is full of vibey photographs spanning citiscapes, portraits and his own life as an up and coming star.

As for his character Benito and what lies ahead (across two episodes), it seems an international love affair with Belly may be on the cards, even if it is fleeting.

Benito is mentioned in the books, but only in Conrad’s letters to Belly. In one instance he writes: “Speaking of news, [Laur] told me you met some Spanish guy named Benito, and he rides around on a scooter. Really, Belly?”

Zoé de Grand Maison As Agnes

Zoé de Grand Maison is a Canadian actress best known for her roles as Evelyn Evernever on Riverdale and Gracie Johanssen on Orphan Black.

We’re introduced to her character, Agnes, in the first episode of season three, where we find out that she and Conrad have a semi-romantic history behind their current dynamic. However, as the episode progresses, we find out that while Agnes might have wanted it to be something more, the feelings were unrequited on Conrad’s side and their platonic partnership is one of pure friendship.

Interestingly, in episode two, we see Agnes serve Conrad some tough truths about how he handles his emotions. Could their friendship prove pivotal to a Conrad and Belly redemption arc? Only time, and the remaining eight episodes, will tell.

Sofia Bryant As Anika

Another newbie to note this season is American actress Sofia Bryant, who you might recognise from her role as Dina in the Netflix series I Am Not Okay With This as well as smaller roles on shows such as Blue Bloods and The Good Wife.

Bryant plays Anika in TSITP – Belly’s college roommate and close friend – who (without revealing any spoilers) plays an important role in helping Belly through a pretty tough time.

Isabella Briggs As Denise

Isabella Briggs is best known for standout role starring opposite Joshua Jackson and Lizzie Caplan in Paramount+’s Fatal Attraction. She’s also been cast in Apple TV’s contemporary film noir-esque detective series, Sugar, alongside Colin Farrell.

Her character, named Denise, works alongside Steven in TSITP season three, and while it’s still early days, there’s some obvious chemistry bubbling away under the surface between them. Whether their relationship remains professional or not is yet to be seen, but as staunch Taylor/Steven fans, we’ll be hoping for a no-lines-crossed conclusion to this season.

Lily Donoghue As Lacie Barone

Lily Donoghue has appeared in several notable shows such as Dirty John and Daisy Jones & The Six, as well as fan favourites such as Grey’s Anatomy and Jane The Virgin.

Coming up, Donoghue is set to star opposite Marisa Tomei and Ciara Bravo in the soon-to-be-released feature, You’re Dating A Narcissist.

If the first episode of TSITP season three is anything to go by, her character Lacie might not be added to the running list of fan favourites. But with nine more episodes to go, we’ll be holding any and all judgement until all is revealed.

Tanner Zagarino As Redbird

You might recognise American actor Tanner Zagarino from his most recent performance alongside Jason Segal in Shrinking on Apple TV+. He’s also had roles in films such as Aftermath and The Real Bros of Simi Valley, as well as credits for The Price We Pay and 9-1-1: Lone Star.

We’re introduced to his character, Redbird, in the first episode of season three, where he makes a few brief – but notable – appearances as Jeremiah’s close college friend.

Given his bond with Jeremiah, it’s likely we’ll see a lot of more of Redbird as the season progresses, but where he’ll pop up is yet to be confirmed.

Kristen Connolly As Lucinda Jewel

Actress Kristen Connolly is best known for her role as Dana in 2011 film The Cabin In The Woods, but fans of Netflix’s House of Cards will likely recognise her most from her starring role as political staffer (and Peter Russo’s-ex) Christina Gallagher.

We come across her character Lucinda in episode one, where she’s seen helping to move her daughter (Taylor) into her college dorm. The pair seem to have a very close (and open) dynamic, which is further explained during a FaceTime conversation with Taylor later on in the episode.

Given the transparent nature of their conversations and the fact she’s one of the main character’s mum’s – it’s likely we’ll see a bit more of Lucinda as more episodes drop.
