In the closing scenes of season three, the post-credits to be exact, we get a few bonus insights into Belly and Conrad as a couple. The series of photos of the pair enjoying a Christmas in Paris is followed by a letter.
If you’re anything like me, you immediately hit pause to read the finale letter in its entirety and dissect every detail.
What Did The Letter In The Summer I Turned Pretty Finale Say?
The letter, is from author and creator Jenny Han and reads:
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love you’ve shown The Summer I Turned Pretty all these years,” the letter began.
“Whether you’ve been with Belly since the very first book or joined us with the show, I’m so grateful you’ve made Belly’s story part of your summers.
“We put our whole heart into this show, and we’re so thankful to you for coming along with us on the ride. Maybe we’ll meet again one summer in Cousins. Until then — All of my love always, Jenny.”
Immediately, eagle-eyed fans clocked Han’s final words: “Maybe we will meet again one summer in Cousins.”
Naturally, it sent fans into a frenzy of theories about a potential spin off or bonus episodes. We didn’t have to wait long to find out, with Amazon and Han announcing that a The Summer I Turned Pretty movie is already in the works.
“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,” Han said following the reveal at the red carpet finale event in Paris.
Seeing as fans were promised a wedding of sorts, it only feels apt that we get to see Belly and Conrad together as a couple and, hopefully, walk down the aisle.
