Pizza Is A Healthier Breakfast Option Than Cereal, According To A Dietician

We'll just leave this here...

Anyone who has eaten cold pizza the morning after a messy night can attest to the fact that it just tastes better the next day but is it doing your insides any favours?

According to Chelsey Amer, a dietician and food blogger, pizza for brekkie is better for you than a bowl of cereal.

Amer told The Evening Standard, โ€œyou may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories.โ€

And the good news keeps coming because, โ€œpizza packs a much larger protein punch, which will keep you full and boost satiety throughout the morning.โ€

Another fact to consider is that most breakfast cereals are packed with sugars and contain less fibre than say, a veggie supreme which is topped with vegetables.

Fellow dietician Priya Tew agrees that opting for a vegetarian topping can make a difference to the overall health benefits. โ€œIf you have a pizza that is heavily laden with cheese and pepperoni than thatโ€™s not a good decision but if it has lots of vegetables then it could be a good option.โ€

Next time you wake-up foggy and eye last nightโ€™s pizza box thinking, โ€˜a bowl of coco pops or a nice slice of veggie supreme, whatโ€™ll it be?โ€™

Remember pizza, every time.
