Homegrown Formula 1 hero, Oscar Piastri, is gearing up to begin his most promising season yet, with a stellar 2024 under his belt and a renewed McLaren contract setting him up for continued success. While maintaining his laser focus on this year’s championship, the up-and-comer also has his sights set on staying grounded – a feat no doubt made all the more attainable knowing his highschool sweetheart and girlfriend, Lily Zneimer, is there by his side.

Who Is Lily Zneimer?
Lily Zneimer met her now partner, Piastri, while attending Haileybury, an elite boarding school in Hertford, England, where the F1 star moved at the age of 14 to pursue his professional racing career.
Sparking up a connection in their second-last year of high school, the couple have been together ever since.
Unlike some of the more public-facing F1 partners, Lily Zneimer prefers to keep a low profile, so very little is known about her personal life.
Although the couple seldom post about their relationship, Piastri has been known to share rare snippets into his life with Lily, most recently offering his 4.3 million Instagram followers an insight into his trip home in the lead up to the season-opening Melbourne Grand Prix.
In a promotional video for F1 Australia, Piastri was seen showing Lily around his hometown. “I’ve really enjoyed coming back here when I can and to be able to share that with my partner as well is very special.” Piastri said in the clip. “It’s been nice to have her here this time and relax a little bit, have a bit of downtime, and show her some of the sights of Melbourne.”
What Did Lily Zneimer Study?
What we do know, is that the British-born Zneimer is an engineering graduate who, according to the faculty’s website, left high school with some of the best GCSE exam results in the school’s history.
Since graduating, Zneimer has been spotted supporting Piastri at various races throughout the season, often carrying her laptop with her.
According to Australian photographer Kym Illman – a paddock regular – the McLaren star first introduced him to Lily at the 2022 Australian GP when he was still an Alpine reserve driver. It was during this meeting that Illman learnt of Zneimer’s own career aspirations. “She wants to get a job in F1 and with her contacts you’d have to say she rates a pretty strong chance,” he revealed in an interview with The Sun in 2023. “They are a delightful couple.”
How Long Have Oscar Piastri & His Girlfriend Been Together?
Oscar and Lily have been together since their late teens, meaning they’ve racked up over six years as a couple. And in the world of elite sport – where travel schedules are relentless and relationships often don’t survive the pressure – that’s a serious feat.
Speaking with Dax Shepard on the Eff Won with DRS podcast in 2019, Piastri spoke about the burgeoning romance, sharing: “We keep it private, [but] not secretive like some relationships are,” he said. “We keep it to ourselves and try to be out of the spotlight and just live normal lives.”
Despite being together since high school, the couple only became Instagram-official in February 2022, after Piastri shared a picture of the couple attending that year’s Autosport Awards.
In 2023, Piastri shared how essential his partnership with Lily has been to keeping him grounded in the fast-paced world of F1, noting: “It’s been nice to have someone there from the start that’s still with me.”
While Oscar Piastri is busy battling wheel-to-wheel with the best drivers in the world, his girlfriend seems happy to let him take the spotlight. She occasionally pops up at races, but with a private social media account, it’s less likely you’ll be hearing from her any time soon.
