What has Amazon said about the plot of The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power?

Through this new mini-series we will finally learn the story about the making of the 19 Great Rings, and the One Ring that rules them all.

“This is a title that we imagine could live on the spine of a book next to J.R.R. Tolkien’s other classics. The Rings of Power unites all the major stories of Middle-earth’s Second Age: the forging of the rings, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the epic tale of Númenor, and the Last Alliance of Elves and Men,” said Showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay in a statement from Amazon.

“Until now, audiences have only seen on-screen the story of the One Ring –but before there was one, there were many… and we’re excited to share the epic story of them all,” they continued.

As many elements of the show are expertly hand-crafted, the title teaser video released by Prime Video followed suit.

Prime Video chose to physically forge the title in a blacksmith foundry, pouring fiery metal into hand-carved wooden ravines shaped to the letters. While we are blessed with this epic slow-mo imagery, we hear a voice-over narration of the iconic lines of Tolkien’s famous ‘Ring Verse’, describing the 20 recipients of the Rings Of Power.
