We’ve reached the third set of weddings of the new season of Married At First Sight – and the drama is only JUST getting started.

Before meeting the new couples, we learn that Mikey and Natasha (despite starting off a wee bit rocky) are excited to see where the journey is going to take them. Amanda and Tash are also seemingly enjoying the newlywed bliss – although photographs from Tuesday (see video above) could prove differently.
Now it’s time to meet Hayley, who John describes as a “light in the room”, or as Hayley describes, “I have all the attributes that would make a top-quality partner.” Hayley shares she was kicked out of home at 17, and later dealt with drug addiction for a period of “8-9 years” before turning to fitness.
The expert’s pair Hayley with 31-year-old David, a combat sportsman. David shares the story of his severe spinal injury, which left him unable to walk after surgery. “I was in a very dark place,” David says. “But I’m a fighter, so I checked myself out of the hospital and did my own rehab.” He now drives a truck and lives on a farm with his “beautiful animals”, and is looking for an energetic, fun-loving woman to share his life with.
Arriving at the wedding, David eagerly awaits for Hayley’s arrival. The bubbly brunette comes running down the aisle alongside her father, before stopping to meet and introduce herself to the groom’s parents.
“He’s tall, he’s tall,” she tells the camera.
“Oh, you’ve got tatts,” Hayley tells David when she reaches the aisle, cut to a disapproving look from the groom’s parents, who are already looking unimpressed with their new daughter-in-law.
Fast-forward to the wedding and David and Hayley are getting along like true newlyweds.
“I want to just dance,” David tells the camera. “I want to kiss her.”
“All his family were really happy for me as well,” Hayley adds.
Again, we get a glimpse of David’s parents – who have made their opinions known about the marriage known. When asked of their first impressions of Hayley, David’s father says: “This is not his usual type for a long term relationship, I think David’s definitely got his work cut out.”
Things turn ugly at the wedding reception, where Hayley’s personality continues to be too much for David’s family.
“More than anything I need to be accepted by David’s parents,” Hayley says.
“Your mum and dad seem cool,” she tells David.
“Mum’s quite sensitive,” he tells her. “I love her to pieces but, you just got to be patient with her. Mum can be very strong-willed and emotional, whereas dad’s very cool, calm and collected.”
“To have a family bond and to have a unit behind us, to have people that are supporting and cheering us on,” Hayley tells the camera, “hands down means the world.”
Hayley decides its time to chat to David’s parents.
“Your son is such a good boy,” she tells the pair. “I think he’s grouse.”
“Is he the type you’d usually go for?”, David’s mother asks.
“Yeah, he seems like an all-rounder,” she replies. “The country bumpkin and the loud city girl.”
Things quickly turn south.
“I wouldn’t call him a country bumpkin,” David’s father replies.
“That’s what he called himself,” Hayley snaps back.
“I don’t know if she’s the right style of woman for David,” they say to producers.
Back at the table, David comes to check on his parents to which his father tells him, “she’s upset” pointing to his mother.
“I can clearly see that,” David says. “She’s nice. Full of energy.”
“I don’t know if you can handle that.”
We can’t wait to see how this journey ends!
