“We ask for time/space as we grapple to come to terms with our loss and appreciate all the support we have been given. Maggie, Colin and family.”
Fellow Australian chefs expressed their deepest sympathies for Maggie in the comments.
“Your beautiful, special, darling Sassy-girl ... I am just so, so sad for all of you, I loved Sassy so much and hold you all very, very closely in my heart XXX,” wrote Kylie Kwong.
“Darling Maggie, I hope you got my message. So very very sad. Sending you, Colin and family all my love. Devastating for us to be united by the loss of a child. Take care of yourselves as Saskia would want you to,” said Lyndey Milan.
“So sad. My love and thoughts are with you, Colin and the family,” wrote Matt Preston.
“So terribly sad for your devastating loss Maggie & Colin. From our family to yours our thoughts are with you and we send all our love XX,” said Gary Mehigan.
Saskia, who was only 46, leaves behind her husband - who she married in April last year - and three children.
Like her celebrity chef mum Maggie and farmer father Colin, Saskia had a successful career in food with her meat produce and catering business, Saskia Beer Farm Produce, in South Australia's Barossa Valley. “The business Saskia grew and loved will continue on with me, her loving husband,” Petar wrote on the business’s Facebook page.
