A man accused of murdering a woman he met on dating app Tinder has been arrested in Mexico City.

Human remains were found at the home of Emmanuel Delani Valdez Bocangegra, 26, and were believed to be those of medical student, Francia Ruth Ibara, also 26, who he’d met on a dating site earlier this month.

Authorities believe Bocangegra murdered and dissolved his victim’s body after she refused to have sex with him.

Ibara’s friends and family had raised the alarm at the beginning of December when she didn’t show up for a meeting with a friend at the movies on December 3. They dug into her social media accounts and discovered she’d been communicating with Bocangegra, who was a former student at their local university.

Canisters of caustic soda and hydrochloric acid were found beside the remains of her body, which had been slung into garbage bags.
