Murder Suspect Claims Teenager Hired Him On Craigslist To Kill Her

He says the 19-year-old wanted to put a hit on herself

A man accused of killing an America teenager claims she had placed an advertisement on Craigslist asking for someone to kill her.

22-year-old Joseph Michael Lopez was arrested on Friday in connection with the death of a 19-year-old Colorado woman Natalie Bollinger.

In an affidavit, Lopez said he had responded to an ad posted by Bollinger in the “women seeking men” section that declared: “I want to put a hit on myself”, TIME reports.

Lopez reportedly told police Bollinger had been the person behind the ad, that he responded using a fake persona and had shot the teenager execution style at her request.

The 19-year-old was found dead on December 29, 2017 on the side of a road in Adams County. She died from a single shot to the head and had a “potentially lethal level of heroin” in her body, an autopsy found.

According to the New York Daily News, authorities have revealed they found more than 100 text messages between the pair on the night Bollinger went missing.

Prior to the arrest of Lopez, police had initially investigated a 42-year-old man who Bollinger had accused of stalking her.
