Man Jailed For Filming Gang Rape Of 16-Year-Old Girl

The attack occurred at a house in Sydney

A man who filmed a 16-year-old girl being gang-raped at a party in western Sydney will serve at least five years in jail.

26-year-old Ayden Devereux, who was sentenced on Wednesday, had pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated sexual assault in company for his role in the gang rape of the teenage girl.

As AAP reports, Devereux recorded his friends sexually assaulting the female at a house party in St Clair in May 2015.

According to Nine News, a group of men repeatedly raped a girl for 17 minutes in a bedroom, as captured on a GoPro camera. In the video footage of the attack, Devereux can be heard calling out “one by one we’ll all get a f—” and “oi, wait in line”.

Judge Chris Hoy told the court that “the offending behaviour is disgraceful”. He said Devereux displayed “increasing and ongoing enthusiasm” while directing the girl’s other attackers, Tristan Carlyle Watson, Kurt Stevenson and Andrew Waters.

Although Judge Hoy accepted that Devereux was sorry for his actions, he declared that the man “knew full well it was vile and revolting behaviour being inflicted upon an intoxicated and motionless girl”.

Devereux was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in jail with a non-parole period of five years.
