It’s safe to say 2017 is probably one for the bin for TV host Maria Menounos. In June, she underwent surgery to remove a brain tumour, and she’s been laying low ever since.
It seems Menounos wanted to start 2018 with a fresh slate though, because she announced her plans to get married on New Year’s Eve just hours before the ceremony took place on live TV:
The host and her fiancée, Keven Undergaro, exchanged vows in front of stunned viewers less than 20 minutes before the ball drop in Times Square, New York. The couple’s close friends and family were in attendance, including Menounos mother, Litsa Menounos, who is also battling brain cancer.
Menounous looked radiant in a long-sleeved Pronovias lace gown with lace sleeves, which she topped off with a long veil.
“I really truly believe that it’s taken us this long [to get married] because of the pressures of putting a wedding together,” Menounos told People. “I’ve always wanted it to be super intimate and even though this is the opposite, we can only invite our immediate family, so the pressure of who to invite is gone. This was just so perfect,” she said.
