It will come as no surprise that Hayley Vernon and David Cannon have been booted off Married At First Sight after “toxic” behaviour, but their departure at Sunday’s commitment ceremony didn’t come without a twist.

Despicable David, who scrubbed toilet faeces with Hayley’s toothbrush after he found out she kissed Michael Goonan, voted to “leave” the experiment because he said he couldn’t bear to “sit beside Hayley anymore or to be in [the] toxic experiment“.
But she tried to get her own revenge by voting to “stay” to make him sit and think about his behaviour for another week.
“You’re husband can’t stand you and you’re keeping him here in handcuffs,” Stacey shouted at Hayley. “You are just being spiteful!
“No one likes you,” Stacey added to Hayley, which resulted in a fight between Stacey, Micheal and Steve.
“That’s not true,” Steve said.
“Pipe down,” Stacey told him.
“Don’t tell me to pipe down,” Steve hit back.
But Hayley’s plan backfired when expert John Aiken told her that her request to “stay” was denied as the pair are not good for each other and it would only create more toxicity.
Despite David saying at the beginning of the episode that he didn’t “feel any remorse” and “there is no doubt in my mind that they kissed so she deserved it”, it was a different story when the experts confronted him with his actions on the couch.
“To rub my toothbrush in the toilet, you’re abhorrent,” Hayley told him. “I think you are a creme de la crumb.” (We don’t know what that means either but we are sure it isn’t good).
“I snapped. Am I proud of it? No, I am not,” David said. “I’ve sunk to a new low with the toothbrush and I’ll apologise to you for that.”
But Hayley refused to accept it.
With David and Michael’s kissing mate, Hayley, out of the picture it will give Michael a chance to continue grovelling to his wife Stacey, who says she is “heartbroken” by his actions.
Michael had planned to write “leave” so if Stacey wanted to leave too, she wouldn’t be forced to spend another week with him.
But, ironically, it was David who convinced Michael to write “stay” and “fight for” his wife. It’s just as well as if it was down to Stacey, they would be gone.
Michael maintains he still doesn’t remember kissing Hayley but the other contestants were not letting him off the hook as lightly as Stacey has.
“I’m telling you now as clear as day, I hooked up with your husband,” Hayley said.
Mishel added: “Michael, I’m not buying it, you’re full of shit. You are making a fool of her and yourself.”
Hayley, who just can’t help herself, added to Stacey: “You’re a fool, mate.”
Elsewhere, Natasha and Mikey voted to both “leave”; Cathy and Josh are still struggling along; Mishel and Steve are working on being intimate; and Connie is still banging on at Jonethen over little thing he does.
Can we swap the latter two out and bring Hayley and David back for another week of dramz? Please?
