Married At First Sight Australia’s Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli are one of the reality tv show’s most enduring pairings – during a season where we saw drama from the likes of Ines, Jessika, Elizabeth, and Cyrell – Martha and Michael’s love story has been smooth sailing by comparison.
Until now, that is – the Sydney-based make-up artist has been hit by a slew of allegations that her feelings for Michael aren’t genuine. Then photos of Martha getting cosy with her ex-boyfriend – on a balcony then later at the beach – added further fuel to speculation that this MAFS couple has not survived the reality TV maelstrom and called time on their relationship.
Taking to Instagram story, Ines, 29, shared a series of photos and videos from their girls weekend in Sydney. In one post Ines wrote: “Me attempting to not wake Martha up.”
Adding, “Don’t worry Mr. Brunelli I’m doing a good job of babysitting.”
However, some viewers think this could just be a play to hype up excitement about the big MAFS reunion and throw viewers off the scent after last week’s photos of Martha and her ex threatened to ruin the show’s big finish. Watch this space!
“Martha has no intentions of staying with Michael,” an insider recently revealed to New Idea.
Adding: “She’s only ever seen this experiment as a way of boosting her profile and launching a reality TV career and she knows that by keeping up appearances while the show is still on the air is in her best interest.
“But as soon as it’s all done and dusted, she plans on dumping Michael.”
However, the Australian Kim Kardashian look has been adamant that her relationship is real, with a family member confirming the couple is still very much an item. Following the homestays, Michael’s brother Christain told Who Magazine: “I know that they are still together.”
During an appearance on channel nine’s Talking Married Martha opened up about the first time she said “I love you” to her husband. “I texted you,” the MAFS star reminded her husband. “I said it in a text. We were in bed.”
The 30-year-old also shared, “I thought he was 10 years younger than me!”
“But honestly, he just had this really kind energy. I was actually really scared to ask Michael how old he was. [He had] these really kind eyes. And he was smiling. He was lovely.”
