And to the joy of the show's drama-loving fans, he responded, “One of the weirdest things when we were on MAFS was that they didn’t film all day, so when the camera crew left [at night], they told us, ‘Don’t learn anything about each other, don’t really talk to each other because it needs to be on camera’."
Continuing, Michael went on to explain a certain rule that producers made contestants follow in order to catch any and all of their arguments on-camera.
“If you have a fight, you need to stop mid-fight, call the producer so they can bring the camera and can start recording… then you’ve got to keep going with the fight!”
However, Michael did admit that he and Martha broke said rule more than once, leading to the couple irritating the show's producer to no end.
But prepare yourselves, because the drama was far from over. Taking to his Instagram Stories, both Michael and Martha opened up about their salaries from their time on MAFS, after being asked how much they earned from their time in the world of reality TV.
And while fans were calculating which of the most high-profile from the cast would likely receive the most in their bank accounts, Michael went on to reveal that the relationship experts were actually paid the most—that was until Martha interjected to clarify, “No, we probably got more than them.”
The power couple also revealed that the filming process behind the MAFS reunion was longer than most expect. Taking a gruelling 15 hours to shoot, she revealed that the second-part of the episode—that involved their one-on-ones with the experts—was filmed at three o'clock in the morning.
“That is how you make a reality TV show,” she admitted. “You film for 12, 14, 16 hours a day and then you just show people 20 minutes.”
And while we can only hope and pray for more fascinating unknown moments from what goes on behind the lens, sadly, there's nothing more we can do other than wait for the upcoming season—and the drama that is guaranteed to ensue.
