Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson’s ‘Marry Me’ Is Taking ‘Married At First Sight’ To The Big Screen

Calling all 'Maid In Manhattan' fans!

For any Jennifer Lopez fan, her extensive filmography of rom-coms has surely kept you company through this horrendous year.

And while watching Maid In Manhattan or The Wedding Planner on repeat sounds like a dream night-in, Lopez looks to be adding another hit-flick under her belt.

Based on the novel of the same name by Bobby Crosby, Marry Me is said to be “a modern love story about celebrity, marriage and social media.”

A stand-out for fans of reality series Married At First Sight, the film looks to be bringing the same principal to the big screen, but this time substituting the dramatic dinner parites, with Hollywood A-listers.

What Is the Plot of Marry Me?

Eerily similar to her real-life relationship with Alex Rodriguez, Kat Valdez—the film’s protagonist—is one half of a celebrity power couple. Valdez’s upcoming wedding to Bastian, a music icon, is slated to be a huge spectable, even creating a hit song for the occasion fittingly called “Marry Me”.

However, moments before walking down the aisle, Valdez learns that Bastian was unfaithful to her and impulsively choose to marry random audience member, Charlie Gilbert, instead.

“What begins as an impulsive reaction evolves into an unexpected romance,” the official synopsis reads. “But as forces conspire to separate them, the universal question arises: Can two people from such different worlds bridge the gulf between them and build a place where they both belong?”
