If you’re a fan of Netflix’s Selling Sunset, then you’re likely familiar with real estate agent, Maya Vander. And if you’re only slightly aware of the reality show, then you’ve probably seen her classic facial expressions circulating online.

Either way, the Israeli-American realtor is known for her sharp sense of humour, blunt honesty and being the middle ground of every in-office argument. But now, she’s taking her selling skills to Miami, leaving the Oppenheim Group and opening her own brokerage on America’s east coast.

Revealing the news on her Instagram, the 40-year-old shared that she has made the leap to launch her own business, built on her years of knowledge and experience.

“So excited to continue to share this new chapter. Miami we’re taking over!” she wrote in the post, sharing that the Miami firm will be called, the Maya Vander Group.

“We are all working hard and pushing every day. We love and respect our clients, which is SO important in order to be successful in real estate,” she said, before directing her 1.3 million followers to her company’s separate Instagram account.

Of course, Maya’s news is hardly surprising. In the most recent, fifth season of Selling Sunset, Maya announced that she would officially be leaving the West Hollywood brokerage.

As fans would already know, Maya shares two children with her husband, David Miller, who is based in Miami due to his work. Tragically, the couple lost their third child, who was to be named Mason, after her pregnancy ended as a stillbirth in December 2021.

“I know I have no choice but [to go] to work and my old routine… That being said, it’s been difficult to still process and seek answers,” she told The New York Post at the time.

For the five seasons that Selling Sunset has been gracing our screens, Maya has been balancing her career and family life between Los Angeles and Miami. In fact, she spent most of the series trying to convince her boss, Jason Oppenheim, to open a Miami-based branch of the business, so she could be based closer to her loved ones.

Unable to do so, it came as no surprise that Maya made the decision to leave the Oppenheim Group and venture out on her own. Here’s hoping that Netflix spin-off series is in the works—listen, Maya in Miami has a ring to it.
