MECCA Has Partnered With EdwardsAndCo For Their Enormous Sydney Flagship Store

And it's opening next week

Earlier this year, MECCA announced that it will be opening a new multi-level store in Sydney’s historic Gowings Building. And now the wait is finally over.

The new store is set to be the largest retail outlet in the Southern Hemisphere, with three stories and 1200-square-metres of space to fill with the best in beauty.

It will house over 200 beauty brands, including classics like NARS, Drunk Elephant, Tatcha and Hourglass, as well as bring some coveted international brands such as goop Beauty and Kylie Skin to our shores for the first time.

Most notably, the retailer has just announced that it will be partnering with beloved hair salon EdwardsAndCo for “MECCA MANES”an exclusive in-store blow dry bar.

About the exciting collaboration, EdwardsAndCo Founder and Director, Jaye Edwards, said “Partnering with MECCA is a dream come true and I am so grateful for the opportunity. I have always pushed the boundaries to ensure EdwardsAndCo is the leader in Australian hair, so having the chance to partner with the leader in Australian beauty seams like a no-brainer.”

The menu of offerings will include seven key looks—classic blow dry, wave, glamour wave, glass straight, guys dry, half-up-half-down and natural curl—and will cost $75 for 45 minute sessions.

In addition to the extensive selection of products and the brand’s first hair station, there will be a Beauty Lab for makeup artistry, a Perfumeria, pop-ups and space for events and entertainment, as well as makeup, skincare and fragrance specialists on-hand to help shoppers make those tricky decisions.

MECCA Founder and Co-CEO Jo Horgan said: “I’m thrilled to be creating a store that embodies our exciting vision for the future of beauty and restores Gowings to its former glory with an experience-led strategy that puts the joy back into shopping. It will be the ‘beating heart of beauty’ in the Sydney CBD”.

Jane Hastings, CEO of Event Hospitality and Entertainment Limited, also commented on the news earlier this year, saying: “We are excited to welcome the Mecca flagship store as part of our strategy to further strengthen the QT Hotel and State Theatre precinct.

“Gowings is one of Australia’s busiest pedestrian corners, incorporating the elegant State Theatre, award winning QT Sydney Hotel and highly regarded dining establishments Gowings Bar and Grill and the latest Parlour Cucina.

“MECCA is a perfect fit to compliment a corner where hospitality, entertainment and beauty set a world class standard of their own”.
