Meghan Markle Has A Female Bodyguard, Just Like Kate Middleton

She rushed the Duchess out of an event after just six minutes

Yesterday, during day two of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s trip to Fiji, the Duchess of Sussex was rushed out of a packed marketplace due to security concerns just six minutes into her scheduled 20-minute visit.

While the pregnant royal was being escorted to her car, fans noticed Meghan’s new bodyguard for the first time, despite her being present on the entire royal tour so far.

Kensington Palace won’t name the woman for security purposes, but we do know that the protection officer has worked for the Duke and Duchess for several months and, according to the Daily Mail, oversees the entire police operation of the couple.

There are also reports that the new royal staff member replaced Sergeant Bill Renshaw, who has frequently been spotted with Prince Harry over the years.

Meghan and Harry’s new bodyguard is thought to have been trained by Kate Middleton’s security, Sergeant Emma Probert, who, if you didn’t guess from her name, is also a woman.

“It’s expected that a new female bodyguard would learn the necessary ropes with Emma first. It would be a trial period to make sure she is the right woman for the job. And if so, she would then be transferred to Meghan and Harry’s team,” the International Business Times reports.
