Meghan Markle’s Brother Is Getting Married, And The Royal Family Is Invited

Disclaimer: the groom is planning on skydiving into the ceremony dressed as Elvis...

Meghan Markle has a difficult relationship with her family, something that has plagued her first year as a royal.

The Markle’s as a whole have created a lot of drama around the now Duchess of Sussex, from estranged nephew Tyler Dooley naming his cannabis business after her and her father Thomas Markle continuously engaging with the press, to estranged half-sister Samantha Grant (now Markle) rumoured to be going on to Celebrity Big Brother at one point.

The latest drama however has surrounded her estranged half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., who publicly slammed the Duchess last year in an open letter, calling her a ‘jaded, shallow and conceited woman’ who would ‘make a joke of [Harry] and the royal family heritage’.

As of this week however, the 51-year-old has changed his stance on the royal. In fact, he is getting married, and he would love for Prince Harry and Meghan to attend.

Yes, really. Thomas Markle Junior wants to put water under the bridge and invite the royals to his March nuptials.

To be clear, his wedding to girlfriend Darlene Blount after two years together is also rumoured to see the groom sky dive into the ceremony dressed as Elvis so maybe they are setting their expectations a little high.

‘I think our wedding will bring the family closer together,’ Thomas told The Daily Mail, explaining that he had invited the Duchess of Sussex. ‘It’s hopeful that if Meghan and Harry came and my father, Meghan and Harry could spend some time together with him and that would be good.’

We think Thomas might be waiting a while for that RSVP, especially given the fact that the Duchess is estranged from the groom, with a source telling PEOPLE that she has ‘no relationship with her half-siblings, nor has she ever had one.’

Still, never say never.
