Meghan Markle And New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern Just Had A Secret Meeting

No doubt with big plans ahead

Meghan Markle and Jacinda Ardern have quietly reunited at Kensington Palace this week. According to TVNZ reporter Joy Reid, the visit was to “recognise their recent successful visit to [New Zealand]” during Royal Tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand in October.

While in New Zealand, Meghan teamed up with Ardern for a number of events. The prime minister was on hand to greet Prince Harry and Meghan when they arrived at the Wellington International Airport Military Terminal, then spent time with them later that night during a welcome reception at the Government House in Wellington. Ardern also joined the newlyweds for a reception at the Auckland War Memorial Museum and a visit to Pillars, a charity that supports children who have a parent in prison by providing special mentoring programs, during their trip.

Ardern’s meeting with Meghan won’t be the only royal engagement of the week. On Wednesday, Prince William will join a panel discussion on mental health at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland. Ardern will be among the other participants.

At 38 years old, Ardern is the world’s youngest female head of government. She also became the second elected head of government to give birth while in office when she welcomed a daughter, Neve Te Aroha Ardern Gayford, in June 2018.
