And with a sister-in-law like Kate Middleton, who has mastered the art of an outfit repeat, it seems like Markle has picked up a thing or two about re-wearing her most memorable pieces from her wardrobe, proving that she’s just like the rest of us.

The Striped Martin Grant Maxi Dress
During their royal tour of South Africa in 2019, Markle sported the striped Martin Grant dress when attending a reception for young people, community and civil society leaders at the Residence of the British High Commissioner in Cape Town. However, the first time she donned the dress was during her royal tour of Australia in 2018, where she attended a local Australian surfing community group—known as OneWave—who raise awareness for mental health and wellbeing, at Bondi Beach.
The Blue Veronica Beard Midi Dress
Markle wore the infamous Veronica Beard blue midi dress alongside Prince Harry while on a trip to the District 6 Museum and Homecoming Centre, on their 2019 royal tour in South Africa. However, Markle was first seen in midi dress during her 2018 tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zeleand while participating in the Unveiling of The Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy at Tupou College.
The Purple Babaton ‘Maxwell’ Midi Dress
First spotted wearing the dress in January 2019, Meghan Markle was a vision in purple during her visit to Birkenhead in the United Kingdom. Following their engagement, Markle was spotted wearing the affordable dress yet again, almost two years later. Markle recycled the now-sold-out Babaton ‘Maxwell’ dress—which retails for approximately AU$73—in October 2019, to attend the One Young World Summit Opening Ceremony at Royal Albert Hall in London.
The Nonie Sleeveless Trench Coat Dress
The decision behind this particular outfit repeat is incredibly sentimental. Confirmed by People, Markle first wore the trench-style dress in July 2018 to an event which paid tribute to Nelson Mandela, stepping out at an exhibition marking the centenary of the former South African president and anti-apartheid revolutionary’s birth. During her tour of South Africa, Markle recycled the trusty royal wardrobe outfit for her meeting with Nelson Mandela’s widow, politician Graça Machel. As she had the previous year, Markle styled the dress in the same way, sporting beige suede pointed pumps and a messy, middle-parted bun for the outfit’s 2019 rendition.
The Emerald Green Parosh Dress
Meghan Markle’s green Parosh dress is another sentimental piece from her wardrobe. First worn following the photo call to announce her and Prince Harry’s engagement, she wore the dress during the couple’s first official interview with the BBC, providing viewers with a close-up look at the dress, revealing the bow detail on the cinched waist. Since then, she re-wore the dress almost two years later, in 2019 at the annual WellChild Awards in January.
While this piece isn’t her most affordable fashion choice, it is proof that Markle will re-wear a dress she loves. First wearing the navy Stella McCartney cape dress for Queen Elizabeth’s birthday celebrations in 2018, she later re-wore the outfit for the Invictus Games Opening Ceremony in October of the same year.

And while recycling a staple piece may be a no-brainer for some, Markle’s re-use of her Alexander McQueen blazer proves that she’s just like us. First seen in the outerwear piece in February 2018 while attending the Endeavor Awards, Markle recycled the seasonal piece at a reception for the Invictus Games in Sydney in late 2018.
