Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just had perhaps the best date night in history, attending the Lion King premiere in London alongside none other than Beyoncé and Jay Z.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left two-month-old Archie Harrison at home for the night, arriving at the movie premiere – Meghan’s first as a member of the royal family – and walking the red carpet hand-in-hand.

For the occasion, Meghan wore a black Jason Wu dress with sheer sleeves and accessorised with Aquazzura heels, a Gucci clutch and black pumps. The new mum was glowing and wore her hair pulled back into a sleek bun.

Harry, who previously revealed his favourite Disney animated film is the original The Lion King, matched his wife in a black tuxedo.

Of course the most anticipated part of the evening was the fact that American royalty Beyoncé (who plays Nala in the live-action film) and Jay Z would be in attendance with many wondering whether we would be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the couple’s first meeting.

Thankfully, we were in luck, with cameras snapping the moment Meghan and Beyoncé embrace at the end of the red carpet. The couple’s hug each other and stand together talking for an extended period of time. PEOPLE reports their conversation centred around Baby Archie as well as likely Beyoncé and Jay Z’s three children.

Beyoncé and JAY Z previously showed their support of Meghan during their 2019 Brit Awards acceptance speech. The couple accepted the award for Best International Group via video message, recreating their music video for ‘APES—,’ which they filmed in the Louvre in Paris. However, instead of posing in front of Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘Mona Lisa,’ the pair stood in front of a regal portrait of the Duchess of Sussex.

Later on Instagram, Beyoncé wrote, “In honour of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy.”

It looks like this is the start of a blossoming friendship which we 100 per cent endorse. Just imagine the children’s playdates.
