Stepping out at Commonwealth Day services in London on Monday, Markle dressed in an all-white outfit, complete with a pillbox hat. The dress and coat, which were designed by the Duchess’s friend, Victoria Beckham, were accessorised with an emerald green clutch and matching heels.
The all-white, nurse-like outfit is one loved by Princess Diana, who wore a similar look in 1987. Opting for the white-on-white, military-esque uniform for a visit to the Sandhurst Military Academy, the Princess didn’t allow an ounce of colour to permeate her breezy look — unlike Markle, who added her own spin via the green accessories.
Kate Middleton has also tried her hand at the white-on-white pillbox hat, too. Wearing a cream coat dress and white silk hat, the Duchess of Cambridge tried the look in April of 2017.
It isn’t the first time either Duchess have channelled Princess Diana, with both Kate and Meghan regularly wearing jewellery pieces from the Princess and emulating her timeless style — which, for anyone that knows it well will attest is most definitely a good thing.
