Apparently, Meghan Markle Loves To Use Britishisms While Home With Prince Harry

"Oh dahling!"

Each of us are guilty of letting a British accent slip once or twice post The Crown marathon. And it seems like Duchess Meghan Markle enjoys sharing a Britishism or two herself.

According to a new report from The Sun, Markle’s staff have revealed that she loves to use a range of British phrases in her Californian home, and it’s all thanks to her time living in the United Kingdom with Prince Harry.

“Meghan was the all-American girl before she met Harry, but since living in the U.K. she’s adopted certain phrases,” a source says.

“Her staff think it’s amusing to listen to an American celebrity using Britishisms. She’s often heard saying, ‘Oh dahling,’ to people at home. They do have a giggle about it and sometimes they do impressions of her but only in a light-hearted way. It’s funny to them.”

But their amusement doesn’t stop there. According to the source, the staff are equally fascinated by Harry’s British accent and his down-to-earth personality.

“The staff there love to hear Harry’s accent, too. They adore him,” the source says. “He’s very well-mannered and staff were shocked by how down-to-earth he is as a royal. He just wants to live a more normal life now in California and enjoy family time. No doubt he’ll start to pick up Americanisms soon and will be asking staff to take out the trash.”

After being released from their royal duties back in January, Markle and Prince Harry have moved into a home in Montecito to raise their family.

The couple were previously living in Los Angeles, where they became friends with Adele and signed on with the Obama’s speaking agency, but decided to move as Harry “absolutely hated” living in Los Angeles.
