All Of The Sustainable Fashion Meghan Markle Has Worn In Australia

Talk about ethicool

With a total of 76 appearances booked during the royal tour of Australia, it’s no wonder Meghan Markle has been crashing websites left, right and centre as she steps out sporting Australian labels, high street bargains and stunning designer pieces.

But mixed in between the Emilia Wickstead dresses and Aquazzura pumps, the Duchess of Sussex has been quietly using her wardrobe choices to direct the Meghan Effect in a sustainable and ethical way.

Below, every eco-friendly outfit Meghan Markle has worn while Down Under.

On the second day of the royal tour, Meghan stepped out wearing jeans by Outland denim, an Australian brand which was established in 2011 to help provide vulnerable women with employment and training opportunities.

Outland denim‘s main focus is helping Cambodian women who have been sex trafficked, hiring them as cutters, seamstresses and pattern makers and paying them living wages, in turn, granting them the agency to escape exploitation and slavery.

Twice on the royal tour so far, Meghan Markle has swapped her signature pumps for a pair of flat shoes by Rothy’s, which retail for just $203. Other than being both practical and stylish, Rothy’s are made entirely from recycled plastic water bottles.

The Duchess does sneakers! For a trip out on the Sydney Harbour to watch the Invictus Games sailing, Meghan wore a pair of $190 Veja Esplars. Not only are the shoes on trend, but they’re eco-friendly, made with raw materials sourced from organic farming and ecological agriculture, without chemicals or polluting processes.

For the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games, Meghan Markle recycled a Stella McCartney dress, which she first wore at Queen Elizabeth’s birthday concert at Royal Albert Hall in April. Stella McCartney is one of the most famous sustainable fashion labels, famously eco- and animal-friendly, not using fur, leather or PVC.

For an outing to Fraser Island, Meghan wore cool-girl label, Reformation, which also happens to be eco-friendly and have an ethos that focuses on sustainability.
