This Is How Much Meghan Markle’s Wedding Gown Will Cost

And this is who's most likely designing it...

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are set to tie the knot in St. George’s Chapel in the grounds of Winsdor Castle on the 19th of May. As the day fast approaches, more details are being shared with the public every single day (here’s everything we know so far).

One of the major details that won’t be revealed until the big day, however, is the name of the designer of Meghan’s bridal gown. Alexander McQueen is a frontrunner, while Roland Mouret and Ralph & Russo have also been rumoured to be considered. According to UK publication Look, it’s likely that it will be McQueen’s Sarah Burton who designs the gown.

More than that, the publication is claiming it will cost £400,000 (equivalent to just over $AU700,000), with the couple’s wedding budget reported to have doubled to cover the cost of the dress.

“The wedding dress has been the biggest expense, and the budget has now doubled from what it originally was,” a source told the publication.

Kate Middleton, who wed Prince William in 2011, wore an Alexander McQueen gown that reportedly cost £250,000.

As for the style of Meghan’s dress, the actress described her dream wedding gown in a 2016 interview with Glamour about her Suits character Rache’s wedding.

“I have the luxury of wearing beautiful pieces of clothing every day for work, so my personal style—wedding or not—is very pared down and relaxed,” she said.

“Classic and simple is the name of the game, perhaps with a modern twist. I personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical or subtly romantic.”

We can’t wait to see what she picks!
