Meghan Markle Expected To Make Another Public Appearance In The Next Few Days

Thanks to her BFF Serena Williams

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have just announced their first royal tour as a family of three, confirming via Instagram that this spring, they are taking Baby Archie Harrison to Africa. But if you thought that was the next time you’d be seeing the Duchess of Sussex, think again. Despite still being on maternity leave and excused from all official events, the 37-year-old is expected to return to the spotlight as early as next week.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Meghan is rumoured to make an appearance at Wimbledon to support her friend, Serena Williams. The tennis tournament officially kicks off on July 1st and runs through to July 14th and was the place Meghan and her sister-in-law Kate Middleton made their first public outing together, watching Serena play Angelique Kerber in the Ladies’ Single Final last year.

A source told the outlet that Meghan is intending to watch her Serena play and the only reason she wouldn’t attend would be if “the baby [Archie] keeps her home last minute.”

The last time we saw Meghan was at Trooping the Colour, the Queen’s annual birthday parade and a day the new mother wanted to attend alongside the royal family to celebrate and honour the Queen.

“This is similar to the Duchess of Cambridge’s maternity leave where she made a few appearances at family and personal events [Trooping the Couple and Wimbledon] but did not carry out any official duties as a member of the Royal Family during maternity leave,” a royal source told ELLE US.

Serena, a friend of Meghan’s from her Suits acting days, is said to have met Baby Archie with her husband Alexis Ohanian in May.
