It all began in 2017, after a ‘shady’ press conference appearance where the current FLOTUS donned oversized sunglasses that masked most of her face. The footage from the event spurred people of the Internet to speculate that the person standing by Donald Trump’s side was not actually Melania.
And the rumours had all but died down until recently, when images of the couple came out that has Twitter losing its mind yet again, with conspiracy theories of a stand-in reignited.
The photos showed the Trumps boarding Marine One at the White House, with Melania wearing dark shades yet again.
But the tell-tale sign they’re citing as evidence? Well, it’s her smile.
Or rather, the fact that she is smiling.
And since it’s hard to find an image of the 50-year-old looking happy in the presence of her spouse, we can’t deny that there is something suspicious about the photos.
