Stirring Visuals & Unprecedented Fashion: The Melbourne Fashion Festival Is Back

Here’s how you can get involved in Melbourne Fashion Festival.

What Sydney is to surf-culture and paired back dressing, Melbourne is to dynamic, edgy and—at times—dark glamour.

That’s why when the Melbourne Fashion Festival rolls around each year, we’re privy to a spectacle of stunning designs, inspired by the city’s iconic street style.

This year, the country’s largest consumer facing fashion event will showcase the best local talent on offer. Hosted over ten days, from March 3-12, the festival will see a myriad of unprecedented fashion events, including several runway shows, shopping events, styling sessions and industry seminars that champion Melbourne’s designers and creative communities.

The festival will also see the launch of the inaugural “Mob in Fashion” industry pathways program for First Nations talent. The course was developed in tandem with leading Indigenous model Nathan McGuire and aims to support emerging creatives with ongoing support, training opportunities and sustainable employment.

Our highlight? The show we’re hosting, of course. Held in partnership with Samsung, Runway 2 will see Australian designers Aje, bassike, Lee Mathews, Oroton, Viktoria & Woods, Nevenka, Anna Quan and Alemais put on a show like no other.

Hosted at the heart of Melbourne’s fashion scene, Federation Square, this collection presentation is set to mark a new chapter for Australian design. It’ll be an evening of refined sophistication and elemental rawness—definitely not one to be missed.
