Each year the Festival brings together industry leaders from across Australia, dedicating their runways, presentations and consumer events to celebrating icons of Melbourne fashion and supporting emerging and Indigenous designers. Yesterday, the Festival and David Jones also announced the winner of the 2021 National Designer Award, sustainable menswear label COMMAS.
The festival runs from 11 - 20 March 2021, with a line-up of digital and socially distanced in-person runways and styling workshops, including the Runway 4 show presented by marie claire, featuring Australian contemporary designers like Aje, Lee Mathews and Oroton.
As part of the “Timeless Fashion” session at the Festival’s Australian Fashion Summit on 18 March, marie claire’s Editor Nicky Briger also speaks to Debra Hanson, the costume designer of Schitt’s Creek, about her career and Moira’s unmatched, “more is more” style.
