Despite playing with our emotions in that whole ‘will she or won’t she’ appear in the upcoming Gilmore Girls revival, we just got our first look at Melissa McCarthy on the set.
McCarthy, who plays beloved BFF and chef Sookie St. James, was in a photo posted on Instagram alongside co-star Yanic Truesdale, who’s reprising his role as Michel Gerard who works on the front desk at the Dragonfly Inn.
This is the first photographic evidence that she would be retuning for the four-part re-boot, after she finally confirmed it on The Ellen DeGeneres Show back in April.
“Literally about an hour and half ago we figured out that I’m gonna go back and do it and I am so excited.”
McCarthy, who starred in all seven seasons of the hit show, joins a number of original cast members in the highly-anticipated return including Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Rose Abdoo, Sally Struthers, Kelly Bishop, Milo Ventimiglia, David Sutcliffe, Jared Padalecki, Matt Czuchry, Liza Weil, Sean Gunn, Keiko Agena, Danny Strong, Vanessa Marano and Yanic Truesdale.
Netflix are yet to confirm when the show will air, but Entertainment Weekly reports it will premiere later this year.
